Kibwe Loreilhe is a Trinidadian Professional Master Fine Artist and Art Instructor, who horned and harnessed his distinct style of Art, as he describes as “Modern Realism” with Caribbean influence, in the lush and beautiful island of Tobago. 

Kibwe, defines his style as a reawakening of Contemporary Art, an appreciated approach in a new era, with a vibrant methodology exhibiting the feeling of this current era.

In this conversation, Kibwe shares about his life as an artist. Talented from  youth he gives an account of the transition into his professional career. He also speaks about the industry, skills and mindset one  must possess to become a better creator, which takes time and dedication.

Bio 

Kibwe's  distinguishing style Modern Realism, which transcends from the dynamic of the moment, empowers him to impressively capture instantaneous reality while the observer can explicitly feel the energy of our rich culture, with each value of color he uses to depict the detail of each illustration.

From portraits to sceneries to the depiction of memoirs of our cultural expression, this artist captures it all. At an early age of 20 he began doing joint exhibitions. He had several businesses ventures and then returned to full-time art, solidly establishing himself as a professional fine artist out of Tobago, since 2017. 

He has done significant work with top sports personalities in the Trinidad and Tobago and renowned local celebrity clients. He has even done live speed paintings for esteemed audiences including the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago and at the Hilton Hotel and Conference Centre.  

Kibwe, has completed significant works of art including a 20 ft real to life mural of the forestry of Trinidad and Tobago, as well as a 10-ft by 3 ft painting of the Red House which was prominently featured at the re- opening ceremony. His work was also chosen by the Office of the Prime Minister to be gifted to a foreign diplomat, this among his many other significant accomplishments. His first solo exhibition with Horizons Art Gallery, "Jewels of the Diaspora", was well received in February, 2022. 

Today, he continues to grow in his expressions always striving for the perfect painting yet in love with the challenge, he hopes to never find it.
